  6 Tips on Proven Ideas to Improve Parent Attendance
Follow the list of suggestions below to be assured of a good turn-out of parents for Gene's Parent Seminar.

1. Child care is a must! The brings out 25 to 35% more parents.

2. Kid's excitement brings out parents!

    a. Provide a top notch video for kids to watch during the seminar.

    b. Have parents sign-in by classes. The class with the most parents attending can be rewarded with an ice cream party given by the PTA/PTO.

    c. Teachers can give extra credit if parents attend the seminar.

3. Provide simple refreshments. (cookies & coffee/punch)

4. Invite two other schools to participate with your school. They can help with refreshments as well as share the cost of the seminar.

5. One week before the seminar, send out the enclosed flyer. Be sure to include the Date, Time, and Location of the seminar.

6. The day before the seminar send out reminder flyers. (Make copies of the enclosed original.)

7. The day of the seminar have your Room Mothers call 10 to 15 parents. They should convey the following message.

    "I'm calling to invite you to attend the Parent Seminar tonight presented by Gene Bedley. Gene was chosen by the National PTA as the Outstanding Educator of the Year. He promises to give lots of practical ideas which will enhance your relationship with your child. You are guaranteed not to be bored by this humorous and entertaining talk. You'll be glad that you took the time to attend. The practical ideas which will be presented have been proven successful with thousands of parents. The program begins at _________ and will be over by _________. It will be held at _______________________. There will be child care provided, with a movie for the older children. See you tonight at the parent seminar."
